John Pawson's architecture is completely blowing me away today. I could stare endlessly at all of his work.

A lovely collection from Isabel Marant - minimalism with a touch of sparkle.

Love everything about these rooms from Megan Mullally's house featured in the latest Elle Decor. Particularly enjoy the artwork hung salon-style in the living room, cerused oak cabinetry in the kitchen and the set of photography over the headboard. Beautiful.

  • Ever wonder what you can see & eat in 10 hours in New York with $100? Take a look at what Bonnie did - she should win an award.
  • Yasmin Sewell is endlessly chic. I'm convinced she has the most enviable sunglasses collection in existence. Her leather jacket and coral lips are perfect.
  • This is definitely the coolest wedding invitation I've seen. Modeled after an album cover, it's got awesome graphics and just the right amount of humor.
  • Sometimes it's all in the details. You can just tell by looking at this photo that the girl behind it has got some style. I'm oohing and ahhing over her satchel and cuff.
  • I was eying an old fashioned straw holder at a home store last weekend and a light bulb when on when I saw one used as a pencil holder. Brilliant!
  • I'm loving Miss Moss' 'things I like right now' series, and I'm pretty much on board with everything that Catherine from Wolf Eyebrows listed. In fact, I got that Laura Lombardi necklace on Monday and haven't taken it off since.
  • Another interior from what feels like out of my dreams. It was, of course, spotted on Aubrey Road - she's my twin when it comes to architecture and interior aesthetic.
  • How beautiful is this sketch/watercolor painting of Thom Yorke? Part of me wants to get it printed and framed. Or give it as a gift to a true Radiohead fan...
  • Booked a trip to explore Portland this week and keep revisiting Alyson's beautiful wedding. If this is what Oregon looks like, I may become a permanent resident.
  • So in love with these minimal animal photos. I think they'd be darling in a nursery. And given the fact that I received no less than three baby shower invitations this week, someone may just get lucky.

Sorry for the light posting this week, just been getting things in order. See you back here on Monday - have a wonderful weekend! JC

[graphics] table wine...

Posted on | 26 August 2010 | 2 Comments

These wine bottles designed by Rethink Communications are too good. Focusing on the concept of "table wine", they've used iconic table styles on their packaging. Now that's clever...

My favorite is, not surprisingly, the Saarinen table. And the bottle itself looks perfect for communal outdoor dining.

My sister hopped on my computer this weekend and opened up the Design Sponge home tour of Nikole Herriott. My jaw immediately dropped. In an attempt to curb my jealousy, I'm attributing much of it's charm to the fact that her father began Herriott Grace.

I love the minimal nature of it with a hint of the country through materials like aged oak and linen. And if anyone knows where her sweet leather satchel is from, do tell. Nikole also has a blog that is equally inspiring: forty-sixth at grace.

[update] a new look...

Posted on | 24 August 2010 | 5 Comments

I've been working on sprucing up the place a bit. Nothing too extravagant, but take a look if you've got a chance. I don't know about you, but I often treat my blog as I do my home. I get sick of looking at the same thing everyday and feel it needs a seasonal makeover. Also, it coincides perfectly with my 3 year blog anniversary! It's definitely been a blast "meeting" all you lovely and creative folk. Here's to 3 more years!

The above photo is a polaroid taken on 690 film and reminded me of new beginnings...

[graphics] studio round...

I'm completely smitten with the work of Studio Round. They churn out the type of design I dream of doing; clean, modern, timeless and completely captivating.

It was near impossible to choose one project I liked best, but their print publication for Broadsheet really stood out to me. It's all about the images and clean, prominent type.

[interior] stair runner...

In love with this image from Apartment Therapy of a subtle robin's egg blue runner painted up the center of a staircase. With just a hint of antique gold in the mirror and ceiling fixture and everything else white, it's the perfect amount of pretty.
